The New Orleans Saints could be in the market to add another safety following the release of Jairus Byrd.
Part of the process to identify a potential replacement began two weeks ago at the NFL Scouting Combine, where the Saints held formal and informal interviews with players, and steps will continue leading to the NFL Draft in late April.
At least one safety, however, is known to be on the immediate radar.
Connecticut safety Obi Melifonwu is scheduled for a predraft visit with the Saints, a source familiar with the process confirmed Monday evening.
