Coming out of high school, New Orleans Saints quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was a four-star recruit out of Miami Northwestern, a dual-threat quarterback. He wasn’t recruited as heavily as a five-star but did receive eight offers from Louisville, LSU, Florida, Rutgers, Miami, South Florida, Florida International and Tennessee. He was further offered opportunities to walk-on at Louisiana Tech, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan and Ohio State.
He took Louisville because it was the highest-profile spot that would offer him the fastest path to a starting job. His freshman year was definitely in the game manager mode.
