Saints tackle challenge of playing defense in pass-happy NFL

The New Orleans Saints were penalized six times for defensive pass interference through four regular-season games, which tied with the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts for the most in the league entering Week 5.

Penalties are never good, of course, but the Saints appreciate the challenge of playing defense in a pass-happy NFL where rules slant heavily in favor of the offenses.

"I tell you what," Saints secondary coach Aaron Glenn said with a chuckle in a conference call, "the way the rules are now, the evolution of offenses right now, I tell you it is tough.
