Saints swap picks with Dolphins, take Texas A&M C/G Erik McCoy

The move itself looks pretty common sense. Saints center Max Unger recently retired and his replacement currently is former Vikings backup center/guard Nick Easton, an undrafted free agent out of Harvard. They couldn’t hold off on making a move, apparently, and not long into the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, made a deal with the Dolphins to move up from pick 62 to pick 48 to snag their man. The newest member of the New Orleans Saints is Texas A&M center/guard Erik McCoy.

The deal made with the Dolphins, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, has the Saints giving their pick 62 and pick 177 from the sixth round this year in addition to next year’s second round pick to the Dolphins in exchange for their 48th overall pick this year and their fourth rounder, pick 116.
