Saints snaps counts analysis, Week 5: Malcolm Jenkins ends 43-game streak

It took some creativity to make sure everyone got their due minutes, but the New Orleans Saints snap counts from Week 5’s win over the Los Angeles Chargers reflects a team in transition. A huge, Michael Thomas-sized void at wide receiver has continued to evolve from week to week and the defensive personnel has begun to lean towards heavier packages, with an active rotation up front. Here’s our analysis on each position group:

  • QB Drew Brees, 72 (95%)
  • RB Alvin Kamara, 58 (76%)
  • RB Latavius Murray, 21 (28%)
  • QB Taysom Hill, 20 (26%)
  • FB Michael Burton, 13 (17%)

Nothing unusual here, but Murray did turn in his second-lowest snap percentage of the year so far.
