After missing seven of the first eight games this year, Dannell Ellerbe is proving to be the playmaker the New Orleans Saints hoped he would be this season.
In Sunday's win over the Los Angeles Rams, Ellerbe had five tackles, one for loss and one sack. He now has a sack and a tackle for loss in three straight games.
More important than the statistics, though, is the Saints finally used Ellerbe is more of a full-time role as he played 91 percent of the defensive snaps (48 of 53), which is a season high.
