The New Orleans Saints practice squad filled its final vacancy by signing wide receiver Jake Lampman, a free agent who started his NFL career as an undrafted rookie with the Saints back in 2016. He played at Ferris State in college and has kind of bounced around in the years since, spending time on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice squad in 2017 and popping up with the XFL’s Tampa Bay Vipers early this year. He tried out for the Saints in August along with some other players.
This isn’t the help Saints fans have been asking for. While he has played in their system before, so have more-accomplished NFL veterans like Kenny Stills who could offer more down the stretch.
