The New Orleans Saints on Monday signed linebacker Audie Cole to a contract, according to a source familiar with the transaction.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The 6-foot-5, 248-pound Cole spent the past five months with the Jacksonville Jaguars after signing a two-year contract in March. He appeared in three preseason games before the Jaguars released him Saturday.
Cole, 28, entered the league out of North Carolina State in 2012 as a seventh-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings, where he played five seasons (2012-16).
A versatile linebacker, Cole has appeared in 57 career games with seven starts, totaling 86 tackles (59 solo), a sack, two passes defensed and two fumble recoveries.
