Nick Underhill of the Advocate reports that the Saints have signed rookie LB Jonathan Walton to a contract Monday evening.
Underhill mentions that Saints undrafted rookie Sae Tautu suffered an MCL sprain this past weekend, which is likely why New Orleans elected to bring in another linebacker.
Walton wound up going undrafted out of Sout Carolina a few months ago. This will be his first opportunity with an NFL team.
During his four-year college career at South Carolina, Walton recorded 179 tackles, 14 tackles for a loss, an interception, three forced fumbles, a recovery and three pass defenses over the course of 43 games played.
