A new vacancy opened on the New Orleans Saints active roster after Drew Brees was designated to the injured reserve list, and they didn’t take much time filling it. They signed a new backup quarterback in Trevor Siemian, whose Denver Broncos defeated the Saints in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome back in 2016 (off of a botched call on a blocked extra-point kick return, when the defender’s white cleats clashed with the white sideline paint and he was mistakenly not ruled out of bounds.
