One day after addressing the defense, the New Orleans Saints filled a big need on the offensive side of the ball by selecting Ohio State wide receiver Michael Thomas with the No. 47 pick of the second round.
Thomas, a big-bodied pass-catcher at 6-foot-3, 212 pounds, caught 56 passes for 781 yards and nine touchdowns in Ohio State’s run-heavy offense last year, one year after leading the Buckeyes with 54 catches, 799 yards and nine scores in Ohio State’s run to the national chmpionship.
New Orleans had a need at wide receiver after parting ways with legendary Saint Marques Colston in the offseason.
