METAIRIE, La. -- New Orleans Saints safety Jairus Byrd sat out Thursday’s practice with a knee injury, though he was dressed and in attendance during the early portion open to the media.
It’s unclear if Byrd suffered a new injury or was resting the same knee that held him out for the first three games of the season and much of the preseason. According to NOLA.com’s Evan Woodbery, Byrd had not missed a practice since he returned in Week 4. Byrd played in every snap for the Saints during last Sunday’s win at Tampa Bay.
Thursday’s practice was the first of the week for the Saints, a day later than usual since they are hosting the Detroit Lions on Monday night.
