Former Utah linebacker Chase Hansen joined the Saints immediately following the 2019 NFL Draft as an undrafted rookie free agent. He was cut just this past Friday along with Monmouth tight end Jake Powell and former Grambling running back Martez Carter.
He had been dealing with issues since having surgery in January to repair a herniated disk in his back, but it’s not clear why he was cut or what happened to get him resigned. But Hansen, even entering a crowded field competing for little space at linebacker in Saints camp, is considered a potential dark horse to make the cut.
