Josh Scobee apparently won’t become the New Orleans Saints' 11th kicker in 11 years this season. The veteran was released on Monday, two months after he signed with the team.
That leaves incumbent Kai Forbath as the only kicker on New Orleans roster, for now.
It’s unclear why Scobee was released, as he had just talked Monday at the Saints Hall of Fame golf tournament about his expectation to compete with Forbath this summer. But the Saints did have kickers Connor Barth and Nate Freese in for tryouts this past weekend, so another move could be pending.
