The news broke that the Saints signed Scobee on March 4 after he went public on Facebook announcing the move. Before taking over the Pittsburgh Steelers’ starting kicker job, Scobee played 11 seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars, who selected him in the fifth-round of the 2004 NFL Draft out of Louisiana Tech.
Perhaps there was a lingering issue with the hip flexor injury that Scobee played through last season, which would explain things. However, the reality is that only Kai Forbath, who was re-signed by the team on March 9, is the lone kicker on the team right now.
