Herbie Teope reports that the Saints have re-signed OL Khalif Barnes just a day after releasing him.
According to Teope, New Orleans cut Barnes so that they could make room for Lance Moore, who was signed to a one-day contract to retire as a member of the organization.
Barnes, 35, is a former second-round pick by the Jaguars of the 2005 NFL Draft. He spent four years with Jacksonville before signing with the Raiders in 2009.
After seven years in Oakland, Barnes signed a one-year contract with the Saints late in the preseason.
