The New Orleans Saints completed the most-important roster move possible before facing the Los Angeles Rams in the 2018 NFC championship game: re-signing rookie quarterback J.T. Barrett to the practice squad. This transaction was first reported on Jan. 19 by Nick Underhill of the Advocate, who noted that wide receiver Paul Turner was waived to make room for Barrett.
This is transaction No. 25 for Barrett, who first signed with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Ohio State back in May 2018. He competed for a roster spot throughout training camp, was waived during roster cut-downs, and then bounced onto and off of the practice squad as the season drug on.
