NEW ORLEANS -- The New Orleans Saints promoted guard Ryan Seymour from the practice squad to the active roster on Saturday and released cornerback Tony Carter.
The move could possibly signal that New Orleans needs depth on the offensive line, where both starting offensive tackles Terron Armstead and Zach Strief are listed as questionable with injuries.
Armstead (knee) and Strief (elbow) did not practice during this short week following a Monday night game. But both players have played through those injuries in recent weeks.
Quarterback Drew Brees (foot) is also listed as questionable, but he was able to practice on a limited basis Friday and insisted that he plans to play.
