The Saints made two roster moves on Saturday, Nov. 10, both expected. First, Dez Bryant was placed on season ending injured reserve. Second, the team promoted rookie wide receiver Keith Kirkwood from the practice squad to the active roster.
The news was bad for Dez Bryant as MRIs revealed he did, in fact, have a torn Achilles and will be sidelined for at least eight months. That would mean a recovery would come well after his contract with the Saints expires. The Saints will still have an opportunity to negotiate a deal with him in the offseason but recovery from this type of injury is never guaranteed.
