The New Orleans Saints appear set at safety, but Chris Trapasso of CBS Sports has them adding a fourth option to the position with their first pick in his latest 2019 NFL mock draft. He connects the Saints with Maryland Terrapins safety Darnell Savage at No. 62:
Savage is a good player. He’s racked up 8 interceptions and 13 other pass breakups in three years as a starter, while showing up in run defense with 182 career tackles (139 solo), 9 of them costing the offense a loss of yards. If the Saints were thin at safety he’d be a great addition, but it’s one position they don’t seem interested in improving.
