Saints, Pelicans owner Tom Benson will be deposed in family trust battle

NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans owner Tom Benson was ordered to face questioning in a deposition next week as part of his legal feud with his estranged heirs over a group of family trusts, according to NOLA.com and the New Orleans Advocate.

Benson, 88, is seeking to remove non-voting shares of both sports franchises from the trusts that were created for his daughter, Renee Benson, and grandchildren Rita LeBlanc and Ryan LeBlanc.

Benson can remove them from the trusts as long as he replaces them with assets of equal value.
