Saints offense reignited by Sean Payton's bold fourth-down call

NEW ORLEANS -- The New Orleans Saints' biggest win of the 2015 season "took some marbles."

That's the phrase quarterback Drew Brees used to describe coach Sean Payton's decision to go for it on fourth-and-goal in the third quarter on Thursday night.

It was a game-changer -- not just because it gave the Saints (2-4) a 17-point lead on their way to a 31-21 victory over the Atlanta Falcons inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. It was huge because the Saints offense had lost their fire so far this season.

Think of any sacrilegious word you want to describe what had happened to the once-potent Saints offense, and it's probably fair: ordinary, flat, lifeless, toothless, uninspiring.
