New Orleans Saints offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael spoke with the media in a press conference in the leadup to his team’s kickoff against the Carolina Panthers. The Saints intend to rest multiple starters on offense including offensive linemen Terron Armstead and Larry Warford, and likely quarterback Drew Brees. Veteran wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. is also likely sitting out, based off of comments made by teammate Tre’Quan Smith.
Carmichael was asked about the difficulty in preparing his unit without so many key pieces, and he offered interesting insight:
