The New Orleans Saints announced their Most Valuable Player awards for the 2018 season at the annual Touchdown Club luncheon on Wednesday, with right tackle Ryan Ramczyk representing the offense and linebacker Demario Davis for the defense. Kicker Wil Lutz was named special teams MVP.
Davis commented briefly after receiving the award, thanking the Saints and his teammates for the recognition. “I mean this from the bottom of my heart: this is my family,” he told Rod Walker of The Advocate. Davis signed with the Saints as a free agent last year after spending most of his career with the New York Jets, and was voted a team captain after his first training camp in black and gold.
