NEW ORLEANS – When Rafael Bush went down in the season opener last year, the New Orleans Saints turned to safety Jamarca Sanford. Now that Bush has bolted for Detroit, the Saints have again turned to the Batesville, Mississippi native, resigning him to a one-year deal, according to a league source. The value of Sanford’s new deal hasn’t been disclosed. Sanford, who played all 16 games for New Orleans last season, originally joined the organization in 2014 after a brief stop in Washington, where he played in just three games for the Redskins. Sanford has demonstrated the ability to play both safety positions while also contributing on special teams.
