Michael Mauti, a local boy from Mandeville High School just across Lake Pontchartrain from New Orleans, has been named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
The honor is well deserved after the New Orleans Saints linebacker blocked a punt in the first quarter Thursday night against the Atlanta Falcons, a play that brought flashbacks and heartwarming memories to the Who Dat Nation.
Of course, we all remember Steve Gleason‘s celebrated blocked punt during Monday Night Football in 2006, which also came against the Falcons.
