Saints made a mistake cutting Nate Stupar

On Monday, Sep. 3, the Saints released veteran linebacker Nate Stupar. There are possible logical reasons behind the move, but, nonetheless, the Saints made a mistake with this one. The depth on the unit is not as solid as it is in other parts of the defense and Stupar is a solid backup option.

Stupar was going into his third season in New Orleans after playing for the 49ers, Jaguars and Falcons over the course of his six-year NFL career. While never getting many starting reps, Stupar instead cut his teeth on special teams where he was a standout.
