The Saints have a long history under coach Sean Payton of having a keen eye for wide receiver talent. The list stretches all the way back to Marques Colston, selected in the last round of the 2006 draft, and continues to current UDFA Tommylee Lewis. New Orleans knows wideout talent.
So it’s no surprise that after Jacksonville lost their No. 1 receiver this past weekend, they looked to the Saints stockpile to find someone to join their cause. Allen Robinson was lost for the 2017 season after suffering an ACL tear in the Jaguars win over Houston. To fill the void created as every other receiver moved up the depth chart, they turned to Saints practice squader Max McCaffrey.
