A bad situation for the New Orleans Saints secondary got worse on Tuesday, as starting slot cornerback Patrick Robinson was diagnosed with a broken ankle and placed on injured reserve. The news was first reported NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo.
Robinson exited Sunday’s victory over the Atlanta Falcons after taking a bad shot to the lower leg from a Falcons offensive lineman executing a cut-block. Though team doctors initially hoped that Robinson suffered a less-serious high ankle sprain, an MRI exam later in the week revealed that his ankle was broken.
With Robinson out of the picture, New Orleans must now hope that either Ken Crawley or P.
