The superlatives are running out for the 2018 version of the New Orleans Saints as they put together what might have been the most complete game of the Sean Payton/Drew Brees era in a crushing, 48-7 defeat of the reigning Super Bowl champ Philadelphia Eagles in the Superdome in Week 11.
This wasn’t the shootout many have come to expect from the Saints in under Payton and Brees. On this day, the defense came to play as hard as the offense, limiting Carson Wentz and the Eagles to 196 yards of total offense and easily controlling all aspects of the game.
