Reports came out early this morning from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport that the Saints were going to have former starting cornerback Ken Crawley inactive for tonight’s Sunday Night Football matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. That points to the possibility that the team is looking to roll the dice and go with recently acquired, former Giants cornerback Eli Apple in his place.
The actual list of inactives won’t be released until an hour or so prior to kickoff, 7:20 Central, tonight. But reports like this from Rapoport are usually on the mark. Not only would this move mean a likely start for Eli Apple, but it would leave the Saints pretty thin at cornerback.
