NEW ORLEANS -- Veteran Josh Scobee hopped onto the New Orleans Saints' kicker carousel Friday, announcing on Facebook that he has signed with the team.
If Scobee wins the job, he will be the 11th kicker used in 11 years under coach Sean Payton. It's unclear if the Saints plan to re-sign free agent veteran Kai Forbath for competition.
Scobee, 33, spent his first 11 seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars and became the franchise's all-time leading scorer, making 81 percent of his field goals from 2004-2014. He scored 1,022 point and made 235 field goals with the Jaguars, including a game-winning 59-yarder against the Indianapolis Colts in 2010.
