The NFL announced proposed rule changes to be discussed ahead of league meetings in the spring, and surprisingly, nothing came from the New Orleans Saints. This comes in the wake of the controversial end to the 2018 NFC championship game, when a blatant defensive penalty by the Los Angeles Rams cost the Saints a chance to put the game away and advance to Super Bowl LIII. The league office apologized to Saints head coach Sean Payton immediately afterwards, but there’s no undoing the damage their officials caused.
Anyway. While Payton is a member of the NFL competition committee, he and the Saints chose not to formally suggest any changes.
