Saints don't need extra motivation from Superdome anniversary

METAIRIE, La. – The New Orleans Saints next game is a made-for-TV special – the 10-year reunion of that unforgettable night when they reopened the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina on Monday Night Football and beat the Atlanta Falcons 23-3.

But coach Sean Payton insisted this week that it will neither have a galvanizing effect nor be a distraction for his team. They have enough motivation after an 0-2 start with two last-minute losses.

“Right now we’re knee deep in trying to clean up the mistakes and finding a way to get our first win, and that’s really the truth,” Payton said.
