HOUSTON -- It wasn’t pretty at first. Things actually got worse before they got better.
But eventually, the New Orleans Saints defense showed signs of progress during Sunday’s debut of new coordinator Dennis Allen.
After allowing touchdowns on the Houston Texans’ first two drives, the Saints settled in and held Houston to 10 points the rest of the way in a 24-6 loss.
“We had some plays we want back, but I thought we were consistent. I thought our tackling was better,” said safety Kenny Vaccaro, who led the Saints with 13 tackles.
