METAIRIE, La. -- It doesn’t get much better for a defense than the last seven minutes the New Orleans Saints played on Sunday.
Six plays. Three takeaways. Two sacks. And one remarkable 35-34 comeback victory over the San Diego Chargers.
Unfortunately, those other 233 minutes have been much more turbulent for New Orleans’ defense this year.
“I think the big thing for us is developing our consistency,” Saints defensive coordinator Dennis Allen said of the No. 1 priority coming out of this week’s bye.
