Throughout the offseason, the talk around the Saints was what a huge step forward the defense would be making this season. They drafted Marcus Davenport, brought in free agents Demario Davis and Kurt Coleman. And didn’t need to touch the cornerbacks group because you don’t mess with perfection except to add Patrick Robinson who would turn that group into Super Bowl stars.
Life looks funny in the rearview mirror. Here we are, just three weeks into the season, and the Saints cornerbacks, aside from Marshon Lattimore, are the laughing stock of the league. And Patrick Robinson is out, likely for the season, with a broken ankle.
