The New England Patriots parted ways with talented wide receiver Josh Gordon this week, waiving the veteran after an uninspiring start to his season and the addition of playmakers like Mohamed Sanu. Few teams are as thin at wide receiver as the New Orleans Saints; beyond first-team All-Pro Michael Thomas, they haven’t found anyone who can consistently threaten defenses. Instead, they’ve been relying on the run game and crafty play design to get tight ends and running backs (and sometimes fullbacks and quarterbacks) favorable looks against coverage.
So of course the idea of adding Gordon was popular among Saints fans.
