When they kick off against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, the New Orleans Saints will have a new quarterback taking snaps from under center, but it won’t be Drew Brees. Teddy Bridgewater will finally get his chance to shine, with Brees beginning his recovery from hand surgery.
It won’t be like the previous outings Saints fans have seen from Bridgewater. He won’t be going into the game without the benefit of an offense at full-strength around him, like last year’s season finale, in which starters like Alvin Kamara were held out for rest before the playoffs. He won’t be trying to manage a game plan that wasn’t scripted for him as he did last week against the Los Angeles Rams; the Saints were basically trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.
