New Orleans Saints center Max Unger is having a new experience as he approaches his ninth season in the NFL.
Instead of participating in offseason practices, Unger is rehabbing and helping the younger centers learn the finer points of the offense.
For the first time in his career, Unger will enter the season with an injury. He's hoping to return for Week 1, but it'll still be odd for him not to be on the field during training camp preparing for the season.
Unger underwent surgery on his left foot in May as he continued to deal with a Lisfranc injury he suffered in Week 13 last season against the Detroit Lions.
