WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.VA. — Drew Brees' lack of a contract extension was the hottest topic at The Greenbrier as the New Orleans Saints started training camp Thursday, but the man snapping the ball to the franchise quarterback is entering the final year of his contract, too.
Center Max Unger, whom the Saints received in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks for Jimmy Graham last year, is the second-most important player who is set to become a free agent in 2017 without a new deal.
"I've got one year left, and that really isn't up to me," Unger said Thursday of his contract status.
