Monday, Mar. 11, was the day that it became okay to speak with players about contract issues without having to do it like the Raiders and Patriots do it. The “legal tampering period” as it’s known opened at noon Eastern. There were some huge, huge megadeals announced, some teams got current players under new deals, there were rumors aplenty but, aside from getting linebacker and special teams guy Craig Robertson under contract for another two years, the Saints were quiet.
Things got underway quickly (too quickly?) after noon passed on the East Coast as free agent tackle Trent Brown who played last season with the Patriots was announced to be signing with the Raiders on a massive four-year, $66 million deal.
