The Saints seem to have finally found an answer to their long snapper position that caused them much consternation in 2017. Zach Wood, who appeared in all 16 regular season and two playoff games, was signed to a one-year deal on Tuesday. He was scheduled to be an exclusive-rights free agent.
His base salary will be $555,000.
The Saints had issue after issue last offseason trying to fill the position.
They initially let go of Justin Drescher, who held the position in 2016. They tried to have a training camp competition between Thomas Gafford and Chase Dominguez, but ended up releasing both during camp.
