NEW ORLEANS -- From Archie Manning to Rickey Jackson, Willie Roaf to Marques Colston and many others, the New Orleans Saints fielded an impressive roster of all-time greats on Sunday at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
The 50 greatest players in franchise history were selected by a panel in this, the franchise’s 50th year of existence. They were scheduled to be recognized at halftime of Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions.
Many of them also dropped by Saturday’s walk-through practice, leading to a fantastic photo display of reunions -- such as Colston-Drew Brees and Sean Payton-Steve Gleason -- as well as worlds colliding, like when former Alabama star Mark Ingram met LSU standout Dalton Hilliard.
