The New Orleans Saints will be playing legitimate January football for the first time since 2013, not the run-of-the-mill regular season spillover kind of football, but playoff football. They will square off against the Carolina Panthers for the third time this season, but this one with the dire circumstances of wild card weeekend.
New Orleans is enjoying a revival of sorts, having posted an 11-5 record in the regular season after three consecutive years of 7-9 finishes. But, with great success there is always a bit of downfall, and the risk of losing coaches – to less fortunate franchises – is always high this time of year.
