WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.VA. — Andrus Peat has been one of the standout performers during one-on-one drills early in New Orleans Saints training camp.
Playing left tackle, Peat comfortably uses his hands and footwork to keep pass rushers from running around him. In two matchups Monday, Peat dispensed of Kasim Edebali with ease.
But, if all goes well, Peat won't be playing left tackle this season. He'll be starting at guard.
Thus far in camp, Peat has primarily played left tackle with Terron Armstead still on the physically unable to perform list. A first-round pick in 2015, the 6-foot-7, 316-pound Peat looks like someone who should play tackle, but with Armstead at left tackle and Zach Strief at right tackle, Peat's best chance to start is at one of the guard spots.
