The Saints already have a full 90-man roster and it’s already going to be hard to crack as a tight end, but just today, Wednesday, Aug 7, the team announced the signing of free agent tight end A.J. Derby.
Out of the University of Arkansas, Derby was the sixth-round pick of the New England Patriots in the 2015 NFL Draft, 202nd overall.
He got an overall good review from the legendary Gil Brandt at his Pro Day at the University of Arkansas running a 4.69 40 and showing good hands in tight end drills.
