The big move, getting former Oakland Raiders tight end Jared Cook under contract, hasn’t been completed yet. Even though that would be considered the ultimate prize for the Saints in this year’s free agency period. But that doesn’t mean they’ve stopped being active. Today, Mar. 21, the Saints announced the signing of veteran punt return specialist Marcus Sherels, formerly of the Vikings, to the roster.
Sherels came into the league in 2010 as an undrafted rookie free agent out of the University of Minnesota. The former Golden Gopher was picked up by the Vikings and has been with them since.
