Nick was officially spotted by the media wearing No. 15, while Fullington was in Jahri Evan’s old No. 73. The report on Nicks joining the Saints came on Wednesday, with Payton and general manager Mickey Loomis failing to acknowledge the official signing. On Nicks, Payton said, “We worked him, he’s played in big moments, plus he wouldn’t stop texting me.”
Payton said in his press conference that Fullington, who entered the league as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2014, was going to be a center/guard for the Saints. Fullington is a Washington State product, who was primarily a practice squad guy for the Green Bay Packers, San Francisco 49ers, and most recently the Arizona Cardinals.
