The New Orleans Saints selected former Notre Dame tight end Alize Mack in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft, and the rookie is eager to repay the team for taking a chance on him. The one-time No. 1 tight end recruit didn’t live up to that potential in college, but he views this opportunity with the Saints as a second chance.
“I think the kid’s got a little bit of a chip on his shoulder in a good way,” Saints tight ends coach Dan Campbell told Mike Triplett of ESPN. “I think he probably felt like he should’ve gone higher.
